Meeting an old heretic.

When I heard that John Hick was giving a public lecture at Carrs Lane URC in Birmingham, it seemed too good a chance to miss. How many people get to meet someone about whom they've written an essay? So, as if proof were needed, here I am pictured with him.

He was very approachable and asked me about what I was doing. Afterwards I helped him down the steps from the platform, I think that means I've made it.

You call it proof, but since I don't know what John Hick looks like it only really proves you once squatted behind an elderly gentleman.

It's not even clear he knew you were there.

Still, I'm a bit impressed/jealous anyway.

I think you'll find, if you click on the link to John Hick's website, that this elderly gentleman has an uncanny resemblance.

It seems in this picture I look even more like Dorothy Sayers than normal.

Maybe that's why he talked to you.
Maybe he meant, "What are you doing, alive and dressed as a man??!?"

Aha, so you accept that he spoke to me.
